Benjita is 1 year old and is from Haiti. She came with her family in search of a better quality of life. Unfortunately, things got complicated for her. When she was 6 months old, she was diagnosed with a strange blood disease; then food allergies, dermatitis, respiratory problems, weight loss, etc. were added. Since then, her life has been spent in hospitals and medical treatments. To save her life, she needs a compatible stem cell donor (who has not yet appeared), and in the meantime, a very expensive remedy that Benjita's parents cannot afford.
The drug is called Rapamune (immunosuppressant), which will allow her body to function and respond until a donor is found.
